Does Palin even understand why her lie is a problem for McCain -- beyond the fact that its a lie?

She keeps saying "if we wanted a bridge, we'd build it ourselves," as if Congress was FORCING them to build a bridge, and as if she didn't ask for the money and KEEP IT!

Note to Palin: Your running mate hates pork and the "bridge to nowhere" not in some abstract way because he hates bridges or that he hates Congress telling the states what to do, but becuase he hates WASTE and he thought that the bridge that you ASKED HIM TO PAY FOR was wasteful. It doesn't do much good to the "waste" argument to keep his money.

What's more stunning? The repeated lying? Or the cluelessness?
